Jim Mora acknowledged Monday that he was upset when he put an abrupt end to a radio interview following the loss Saturday that knocked his Atlanta Falcons out of playoff contention.

After Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss at Tampa Bay, Mora was asked by the radio network's color commentator, Dave Archer, why the Falcons punted from their 24 on fourth-and-2 with 1:08 remaining in overtime. The Buccaneers won the game on a field goal five plays later.

Rick Caffey, a senior vice president for CBS Radio in Atlanta, formerly known as Infinity-Atlanta, said Watson was "in DisneyWorld with her kids" Monday.

Said Caffey: "The bottom line is it wasn't thrown at her or near her. She didn't feel threatened. From my conversations with her and with everybody, there's no issue."

"He asked a question and after he did it I was just emotional and upset as anyone who had just fought their guts out for close to four hours would be," Mora said. "I just wasn't in a mental state at that time to talk anymore. We had been through too much for too long."

"There's no bad feelings from him and no bad feelings from me," Archer said. "He said 'I'm sorry. It's just one of those deals.' I said I understand. We've been good friends for a lot of years. I think he's a quality individual."

The loss was the fifth in seven games for the Falcons following a 6-2 start. After advancing to last season's NFC championship game and being picked by many to again win the NFC South, the Falcons are 8-7 as they prepare to play host to Carolina on Sunday.

"I think part of that comes from the fact I share my last name with my dad, who's got famous sound bites," he said. "So everyone is always looking for one, looking for one, looking for one. So you know what? There hasn't been any. That's the problem. You get a penalty for yelling at an official and everyone wants to make a big deal out of it. Every coach in this league yells at officials."

"I knew exactly what I was doing," he said. "I had to show those players who were freezing their tails off and fighting their butts off that I was going to fight for them. I was OK with that one. I knew what I was doing."

Mora was seen using a cell phone during Saturday's overtime period as he and other team officials were trying to find out what effect a tie would have had on the Falcons' playoff hopes. An NFL rule regarding the use of communication devices by coaches on the sideline is designed to prevent a coach from using a device such as a cell phone during an instant replay.

Mora said cornerback DeAngelo Hall suffered a separated shoulder in the game and will not play against Carolina. Hall may recover in time to play in the Pro Bowl, Mora said. "There's not a lot of hitting that goes on in that game," Mora said. "I can't remember the last time a corner made a tackle."... Mora said defensive end Brady Smith (toe) also would not play and may be placed on injured reserve this week.
