THE children of convicted wife-killer Gordon Park say someone is hiding the truth about who reall... MURDERER?S FAMILY TO FIGHT
Speaking out for the first time since their 61-year-old father was jailed in January, the siblings explained how as well as grieving for their dead mother they have also had their father taken away from them for a crime they believe he didn't commit.
Around 20 of the former teacher's family and friends gathered in Manchester on Saturday to officially launch their campaign to get the so-called ?Lady in the Lake? murderer freed.
Holding back the tears, Park's son Jeremy said he wanted to redress the balance of public opinion because people assumed his father must be guilty.
Speaking on behalf of his sister and stepmother, Jenny Park, he said: ?We have kept a dignified silence but now we feel it is the time to speak out.
The family launched their campaign on National Miscarriage of Justice Day and spent the morning taking part in workshops on how to launch an appeal before the hour-long demonstration.
They refused to answer any questions about the grounds for an appeal but it is believed they may centre around a geologist's crucial evidence that a stone found weighing down Carol's body could have only come from a wall at their marital home, Bluestones, in Leece near Barrow.
